TV Show – Sports Bar

Script for presenting sports piece

The two presenters for the sports piece will be Eniola and Philip. We would like to try to keep it brief by giving out short information on a variety of sports and then try to analyse a couple of headlines that have more.

Eniola: Good-morning and welcome to the Sports Bar, today we will be talking about *one subject here* and *another subject here*

Philip: And we will also be looking back on all the past events from last week and looking at some highlights

Eniola: straight from Enfield were Steven Gerrard score the only goal for Liverpool in the semi finals of the Carling.

Philip:Tottenham managed to close the gap on Manchester united and Manchester city,by beating Everton 2-0 at white hart lane.

Eniola: the red half of Manchester will be in the 4th round of the F.A Cup. As they beat Manchester city 3-2.

Philip: mark huges became the new manager of QPR yesterday.

Eniola:

*WE GIVE HEADLINES*

*SHOW SOME FOOTAGE FROM

THE PAST WEEKS EVENTS*

We will then wrap up the events and show a short montage of what happened the previous week.

Proposal

We are doing a TV show called hey guess what and in the show I will be working with two people to do a segment on sports and we have decided to call its sports bar. The TV show will have different segments init to appeal to different people.

During this time we will be telling the viewers the latest sports and any news that is surrounding the sports world, this segment will be around 2 – 3 minutes. It’s going to be two of us presenting it.

How we want to do it is a bit like match of the day and sky sports news, for example the way they are causal and make it fun that’s how we will try to do because we fill like if its to serious and to many facts our views will get bored and will not watch. We want it to be like Gillette soccer Saturday where they have ex footballers on the show to discuss what’s happening in football at the moment.

Sky Sport’s News

What I like about sky sports news is the layout of it. It’s a simple layout where they have the main points on the side of the screen and then there talking about other sports related news.

They have two presenters which is what we will have as well and on the odd quest on the show. This is so the audience don’t get bored with seeing the same two faces.

Match of the Day

The main reason that I like this show is for the fact that’s it fun the quest that they have on the show are normally people who are ex footballers or still playing. The casual feel about the show is what I like most and that’s why I think people watch it. It’s not a football show that has a lot of facts thrown out at the audience.

Job Description

Eniola: One of the two presenters alongside Philip, they will both outline what the show will be about and what they will be showing e.g. football highlights or sportsmen at press conferences.

Philip: The 2nd presenter will also outline what the show will be about but he’ll also focus on interviewing the special guests we have on the show.

Tokunbo: He will be more on the technical side of the show, maybe using the camera or operating the microphone. He will also be a researcher and reporter.

The Olympics

The Olympic Flame will be lit by the sun’s rays on the morning of May 10 in Greece at the start of its journey to the London 2012 Games.

An hour-long lighting ceremony amid the historic ruins of the home of the ancient Games at the Temple of Hera in Olympia will signal the start of an eight-day relay around Greece before the flame hits British shores, starting in Cornwall. The flame is due to arrive at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on May 17 where a London 2012 representative will be ready for the official handover.

A total of 16 parties have registered their interest in moving to the Olympic Stadium, with West Ham believed to be one of the organizations preparing a bid.

The original deal for the Hammers to take over the Stratford venue collapsed last October amid concerns over delays caused by the legal dispute with Tottenham and Leyton Orient. The new bidding process to use the stadium commenced in December, with West Ham currently the favorites to move in as tenants. However, the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) have confirmed that they would accept a ground-share bid from a rugby and football team. OPLC also stated that retaining the running track was non-negotiable.

Tennis

Caroline Wozniacki has parted company with her coach Ricardo Sanchez after just two months of working with the Spaniard.

The Dane hired Sanchez at the beginning of December last year in a bid to help her secure the grand slam title that has so far eluded her. However, the 21-year-old was beaten in the quarterfinals of the recent Australian Open by Kim Clijsters and surrendered her world number one ranking in the process.

Novak Djokovic said he was proud to be part of history after winning the longest Grand Slam final ever.

The Serb overcame Rafael Nadal in a gruelling five hours and 53 minutes, also surpassing the record for the longest match in Australian Open history Nadal set when beating Fernando Verdasco in Melbourne three years ago.In a see-saw encounter Djokovic came out on top 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-7 7-5 and immediately pronounced it the best win of his career.

Football

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed that he is willing to pick Carlos Tevez again, after he apologised for his actions.

Tevez issued an apology on Tuesday for his recent conduct, which has seen him not play for the club since September before a three-month unauthorized break in Argentina.

Mancini has now confirmed that he has accepted Tevez’s apology and he will meet him on Thursday for talks, but admitted that he expects him to be ready in two to three weeks.

Golf

Luke Donald’s defense of the WGC-Accenture Match Play title lasted only 14 holes in Arizona on Wednesday as he fell to a resounding 5&4 defeat against a resurgent Ernie Els.

First-round results

England’s world number one, who made no fewer than five bogeys, became only the third top seed to lose in the first round as he was hammered by this week’s number 64 seed – Els was not even in the event until Phil Mickelson decided to go on holiday rather than make the trip to Tuscon.

Donald joins Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker in making an instant exit as top seed, they lost to Peter O’Malley and Ross McGowan respectively in 2002 and 2010.

Elsewhere, Robert Rock sprung another big surprise as he beat Adam Scott to advance to the second round, while an erratic Woods battled his way past Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano.

Basketball

LeBron James was booed as he led Miami to victory on his latest return to Cleveland on Friday.

Back in Cleveland for the third time since switching to the Heat, James scored 28 points as his new side won 111-87.

Despite this week admitting that he would one day like to return to the Cavaliers, James was loudly booed during the contest but it made no difference to the outcome.

Elsewhere, Jeremy Lin’s dream run ended in shattering fashion as the New York Knicks’ seven-game run was halted by an 89-85 defeat to New Orleans.

Sports Bar Posters

The three images that I have made are for my segment in the TV show, the reason for making three posters is because I’m going to do a survey on what people think is the best poster to use for the show. By doing this it will give me an insight on what people like and what they don’t like. This will enable me to make changes to any of the poster; this is good for my development.

Evaluation

The role that I played in the making for our first TV show was I was the presenter for the sector that I was doing which was the sports section. What I did for my segment was the research part of the show so I had to find out information about what I wanted our section to look like and how we wanted it to. So wherever we want it to be a causal show we’re we have a lot of discussion, like match of the day or wherever we want it to be like sky sports news were it’s more formal. In the end we went for a bit of both were we gave the biggest headlines of sport at that moment and then discussed the major points in sports.

I think that when it came to the building of the set for the TV show it went pretty well, we got all the rights parts up to make it look like what we wanted it to look like. painting the set was good and it looks good but when it came down to putting up a logo it didn’t go to well because of the lack of communication between the group which meant that when recording our first show we had to do it with out a logo, which I think it made the set look very unprofessional.

I feel like I followed the script well and that the script was well written by me and TK, as for the performance i feel like i did very well considering the fact that I didn’t do much practice which is another aspect of the process that i think we could have done a bit better. we didn’t practice a lot which could have been a disaster for the show and the sports segment we did.

what I think went well with the show is that when doing the sports segment I think that when it came to filming it went down well, what we had in mind for the show was close to what we had in mind for that segment considering the start we had to it . when it came do to the day of the filming one of the presenters that was meant to be here didn’t turn up, so the show was looking like it wasn’t going to happen. what I think had happened is that within our group there was a lack of communication because each of us went off and did our own things. which meant that when it came down to it we didn’t know what each other was meant to do. for our show to be better it needed us to work more as a team and not as individuals, because what we wanted was to talk more about sport and to have deep discussion about the main headlines in the sport at that time. The show as a whole i think that we did well to put on a show, I feel like the fashion segment was very good because they put in a lot of effort, and it showed when they filmed. gamze who was doing the fashion segment she went to carnby street to do her filming which i think was very good because she got to find out a lot about her subject.
